LCC cordially invites ALL residents of Lakeland to participate in its 16th annual City-Wide Garage Sale

There are no fees charged and the Civic Club will:
        Do the advertising
        Supply Balloons
        Print a list of all Participants with addresses and reference to merchandise
        Supply current Street Maps
        Post signs
        Arrange for a local charity to pick up leftovers.

All you have to do is begin organizing the “stuff” that is in your attic or garage that you are finally ready to get rid of..................
(Please note that this activity is not being held in conjunction with any other city organization.)

Candidate Forum is Monday, Sept. 11: St. Paul Church
     The biannual Lakeland Civic Club Candidate Forum will be held next Monday, 7:00p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, US64 at Davies Plantation Rd. This will be the only opportunity to hear all of the candidates in the Sept. 20 municipal election at the same location. Candidates will open with five minutes presentations, then take questions through a moderator, possibly some questions from the floor. Candidates will have a two-minute summary at the end.
    Early voting in Lakeland is Saturday, Sept. 15 at Lakeland First Baptist Church from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Voting on Sept. 20 is at First Baptist and St. Paul. Parking at First Baptist will be somewhat impacted due to the Williams Co. pipeline work, but the lot will be open.

Christmas Lighting Contest  12/12/2001
 
Lakelanders String Your Lights.
It is the time of the year to fill Lakeland with the sights and sounds of the Christmas Season. Lakeland Civic Club is sponsoring the citywide Christmas Lighting Contest to be held the evening of December 8 rain or moon. There will be two holiday decoration categories: residential and commercial. Judges will select 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in each category. Entries will be judged on the best festive theme. Entry deadline is December 1. Winners will be notified prior to the Lighting of the Greens at the Peoples Bank on December 11. First place winners will have a cute holiday sign placed in their yard or business to announce to Lakelanders your award. As part of the tree lighting event, each winner will be presented with a beautiful certificate. Lakeland homeowner associations and clubs are being asked to appoint two judges each. The Mayor and Board of Commissioners are being asked to assist in the judging process. Contact Margaret Brown – 388-9190 for more information.
